Douwe Egberts coffee not available anymore?

Are the rumours true? Have they stopped selling in SA? The shelf in my local PnP is empty and I am simply told that it is out of stock.

Can coffee connoisseurs tell me what brand of instant (yes!) coffee is closest in taste ?

I also like the Douwe Egberts coffee, even though it has become insanely expensive in the last year.

Bought a jar a couple if weeks ago at my local Spar. Hopefully they will still have when I need again.

Nescafe Gold works

Definitely my favorite of the "fake/plastic" coffee's. Agree that you can't beat a REAL coffee but if that isn't an option, Nescafe Gold is my pick.

Yes, however as I pointed out the chemical makeup they use in instant are synthetic compounds used to mimic the flavor and effect of coffee.

So its "Just chemicals" not actual coffee beans, its not even made from things that used to be coffee beans.

I hope this isn't true I prefer Douwe Egberts Pure Indulgence...best instant coffee (yes it's instant and it's coffee, check how it's made).
