Down/Upload speed

Why is my download speed so much slower than my upload speed (3.11 vs. 19.76 on SAIX and 3.61 vs. 21.03 on Webafrica)? Should it not be the other way round?

Well on LTE Band 3 with Rain the upload and download runs on separate frequencies as the FDD technology. Think of it like a road. 1 lane both ways which allows traffic to flow. If 1 lane gets congested the other one is still quiet. So you are moving slower on the congested side than if you were to change direction and go to the other lane.

So when people start downloading tons the download gets congested but the upload runs on a different lane so it's going faster. If more people started using their upload more it will also slow down.

Rain runs LTE on Band 3 and B38. If you have a B618 router or a router that supports B38 then you might find that frequency faster.

And conversely for me on RAIN and AH with B618 my uploads never exceed 1mbps...dl's max out at 20Mbps
