?HSDPA download speed

I've noticed that when I'm using a download manager my download speed on HSDPA only tops 50 KBps and sometimes even slower (20-30 KBps). Using the same download manager with 3G my download speed was usually 40-45 KBps.

When I download the same file with either IE 'save to disk' or Mozilla firefox 'save to disk' I get speeds of over 100 KBps.

Tried different download managers with firefox
free download manager, Download themall etc.

I like using firefox and would prefer to manage all my downloads using firefox.

Is there certain settings that I have to change or maybe a different download
manager to get my downloads optimized for firefox?

Please give some advice on download managers and optimizing download speed

Thanks alot

That's because IE/Mozilla has already started downloading the file while it waits for you to select the save location, so initially it looks like you're getting very high speeds. If it's a large file you'll see the download speed will gradually reduce back to your regular line speed as it averages everything out.

I have noticed that if i have a large download going on Flashget, I can't do anything else online. Not even browse. But if I download on Firefox, I can.

flashget uses all available bandwidth for download. you can change that, check the icons at the top, there should be a pink arrow with 3 dots, click on that and change how much bandwidth to be allocated to downloads

i dont use a download manager. whats the point ON A GPRS CONNECTION? *nudge nudge*
