I am trying to download two large apps from their official websites (international).
One is about 240meg and the other 100meg.

I have tried from two different machines using both Getright and IE. The downloads complete successfully, but when I try to move them from one folder to another I get the following error message: "Invalid size or checksum of file or unsupported compression format. Native error: 0008. File processing error, possible full disk".

If I double click on them they unzip and install without any problems. Thing is that I can't move them from my download folder.

I have tried downloading them several times and used about 1.5gig of bandwidth in the process. I have no idea what can be wrong. They install ok, but can't be moved. :o

Windows XP SP2
ADSL 192
Getright 5.2d

try burning it to a cd and then copying it from the cd

sounds like something to do with windows security and/or some anti virus protection thing.

try setting the permissions on the files /re setting them!

hehe, download it to the place u want it then!! When windows start doesing that its tym to reload!!
Ja, but what if I want to move it?

Wrote to CD. Get some problem when accessing it direct from the CD and when I copy it back to the HDD.

Where do I start looking?
edit: I have the same problem on both my machines (1) WinXP NOD32 and (2) Win98SE AVG Free. It must be the file itself.

disable HD compression
Not enabled.

Please, don't take this the wrong way. But are you people reading the question?

Same error occurs using GETRIGHT and IE to download to XP and 98SE machines with TWO DIFFERENT files from TWO DIFFERENT locations.

does there server support reconnection and multiple segments etc. could also be the manager not putting it together properly due to server config or program not working nicely.

Perhaps a security issue on the drive. Reboot into safe mode. Login as admin and go to control panel

select admin tools

there should be a hard drive manager there with which you can set ownership of the drive amongst other things. Make sure it is set to allow full access for the account you usually use...

I am not infront of my XP machine at the moment, so I am not 100% sure of the steps, but it should be there...

Getting exact same problem when downloading direct to win98SE machine.

Get same problem right-clicking and saving direct from IE.

Perhaps I can try another download manager. Any idea? Not sure that it will help though, but worth a try.

Get "Free Download Manager" from http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/.
It works great. Can even select which files in a zipfile you want to download, and preview movies while they download. Have all the other nice features aswell, resuming, multiple streams, etc.

I agree with the above FDM IS GREAT ... now to try and solve your problem I suggest you uninstall you download manager, reboot your pc, zip the file and try to move it by right clicking it and choosing cut and not copy.

One question .. you said something about full disk? .. is your HDD full? lol sure you have space to move the files?

I think the question to ask is: does it do this with other files you download?

If not then the issue is obviously with the files and not the computer / OS / browser etc.

I have issues with secuity settings when I download Adobe Acrobat Reader... and Adobe Premier
