Downpipe Decat

I have heard in the VW Club that a 73mm DP will continously loosen the bolts on turbo and manifold.KwikFit will charge me R350 to remove Dp and Cat and replace with 57mm pipe.

Volvo C30 T5 in standard spec has 162kw, tops out at 240km/h and does 0-100 in 6.7s

I know in some cars, you require a mini cat - not a simple removal, otherwise the engine management light stays on permantly and one or two other issues :/

Note that a mini-cat is a minature cat converter - also called a racing cat and does contain catalytic converter ceramic cells coated with PGE's. and uses the cars current lambda sensor(s).

A lambda fooler is a screw in jobbie that looks something like a short stubby spark plug and "fools" the cars ecu into thinking the car has a cat.
