Anyone put an aftermarket downpipe on a Golf 6 GTI?
If so, who did it for you and what are your thoughts on it?

Im thinking of one for my car. Steves Auto Clinic makes the downpipe themselves and charge R3800 installed.
The other option is a Revo downpipe from VAGTech, still waiting on prices from them.

I put a Revo downpipe on my Scirocco. Lemme just say, you won't be sorry!!!!

Thanks for the info.
Steves say for the Golf 6 they offer a plug n play chip from dastek i think it was for R5800. You can take it out before servicing :)

@WesleyR where did you have your Revo done and what did it cost? I wonder what the difference is between the Revo and self made ones from Steves as essentially they are non VW and are aftermarket.

Got mine from Shaun at VAGTech, can't remember the price to be honest, was early last year. Give him a call, he'll be more than glad to assist you! Their DP is also custom made as far as I'm aware?

DO NOT USE STEVES AUTO CLINIC EVER EVER!!!

Revo is the best imo.
76mm downpipe helps alot, just please dont go to Steves.

Lots of horror stories about SAC online. I wouldn't take my VAG car there. Maybe if I had an N/A bakkie I would.
Rather get revo software. You could get the revo software with the revo sps switch (allows you to turn it on/off and adjust some stuff) for not much more than R5800.

Do a Downpipe at powerflow pipes or noise boys etc.
76mm then do Revo software and your car will pull like a train!!! :)

Got a 76mm DP on my A4 DTM. The sound is amazing at 3500+ rpm and anything lower sounds stock (which I prefer rather than having this noisy "marble in a tin can" sound @ idle).

Go for it.

THIS !

NOt because they are expensive, but because they will do things to your car and cause problems.

Revo is top notch but APR is just as good.

whats the price difference and from a stage one can you just upgrade or do you need other mods

sorry man, i dont have any idea on pricing , perhaps if you are interested in doing these mods , give the agents a call , i think vagtechnik ( revo ) , sportech ( apr) and FRC do them professionally.
