I'll await further information, but with the leaker's rather dodgy way of leaking vague details for his own personal gain and possibly 'projecting' - considering his 2019 tweet, I don't think it's remotely reasonable to call Beahm a pedo.
 
First few days after it came out I thought he may have a way to clear his name, but after his own statement (which he edited), with more **** coming to light every day, I just don’t see any way back for him now.

That's pretty bad for twitch.

I honestly think losing the twitch money and going through that probably would have been enough punishment for him not to do something like that ever again. Lessons would have been learned. Losing money is a good punishment.

Everybody is saying what he did was bad and wrong. I agree with that. I just don't think losing everything is fair punishment.

Mainly and only mainly only because it stayed as text.

I mean these days it's fine for doctors to destroy a boys live and cut their penis off because evil people are deciding kids can choose to be women or man.

There's no punishment for that but sending stupid texts and nobody was given permanent damage.

There just no logic...

So yeah, I am more thinking in line of punishment and what is fair.

I do believe people can do bad things and learn from their mistakes. They can evin become a very good in this world.

With that said murderer and rapists and the evil doctors that destroy children lives should all be put to death but that's a different topic...

I have read Twitch's terms of service, agreements and policies all the way back to the time of the alleged occurrence in 2017. They already then firmly expressed that they collect information from their users for the use of the Twitch Service. You can look it up yourself, but communicating with others and chat rooms are examples of it. Attached to this are their community guidelines or otherwise rules of conduct. Just as they give the reasons of how and when such information may be disclosed.

CSAM, or Child Sexual Abuse Material, is a federal law in the USA. It has existed for a long time, but it is always changing and evolving. Then there is state specific law. It is against California state penal law to send harmful content with the intention of seducing a minor. This would be inclusive of sexting.

If Beahm is guilty of the above, then it is pretty bad for him and an act of criminality. Regardless of how you feel if it is only text, if the conditions are true it is sexting. It is the law, and if alleged and charged, he has a right to a fair trial.

How then could Beahm possibly defend himself. He might argue that his speech (his text messages) and right to privacy are protected by the US Constitution, but it is unlikely. He could have argued that the conclusion is false, taken out of context, and gives the wrong impression of his intentions, but it is also unlikely. Why? He was not criminally charged. None of those arguments are to be made with Twitch, but with the investigators and courts. Neither is Beahm on a predator list.

What could have happened? Twitch probably found the accusation to be inappropriate to the extent of being potentially harmful to their reputation. They decided to end the contract through negotiation, effecting an exit clause for settling a dispute. This, however, still leaves a lot of unanswered questions. Did the inappropriateness of the offense reach the threshold of making it Twitch's responsibility to report it to the authorities?

Further, we do know that a settlement agreement was reached, and that an NDA was attached to that agreement. For that to be valid and legally binding, it must be presented to and approved by a judge. This raises further questions: was the judge aware or unaware of the full facts?

Potentially, both Twitch and Beahm can be in trouble. This could turn into an act of complicity, amongst other unlawful conducts. This is conjecture on my part, and is tantamount to speculative opinion. The offense then is an open-ended question: what really happened?

Say Beahm's behavior is not to the nature of being predatory and exploitative of minors, and a NDA was signed. Twitch has a responsibility to enforce the NDA, so if any ex-employees and employees broke it, Twitch failed. This will give Beahm the legal grounds for suing Twitch, that is, if the facts are true.

What we do know, by Beahm's own admission of truth, is that he "inappropriately" engaged with an "individual minor". It is just unknown if it warranted an act of criminality.

It was reported that Twitch paid out their contract with Beahm in full, and Beahm did move to YouTube. Is there a potential loss of other earnings through the Twitch platform, yes, but it is not comparable to the value of the contract.

The law is the law, and sexting within that law is clearly defined as a crime. Only Twitch can confirm if the text was sexually explicit. The rest of it is all allegations, but it will trigger an investigation. A few individuals made sure that it became a matter of public interest.

Other than the change of the goal posts, what if the allegations are true... What if Beahm met up with the minor at TwitchCon and engaged in sexual activity? That could have also, potentially, destroyed the minor's life. I would not in my mind consider that fair, but as far as I am aware it has not reached that point.

I have since read a lot of legals from other platform providers, and they all have monitor mechanisms for chats. If anything comes from this, my only wish is to expose each and every pedophile.

That's a very good response I agree with almost everything.

I also agree with the law is the law but with that said there are many laws that exist that are just iqnored. I believe this is wrong and laws should be kept up to date and enforced.

The term law is law means means nothing if some rules are enforced and some are iqnored.

I absolutely disagree with punishing somebody without proof and on allegations alone.

It's barbaric and wrong. We have seen plenty of examples of this in Hollywood.

He did dig his own grave with his last response.

I might not agree with how people are responding but hey if theres anything I learned over the years is a crowed will atturly destroy a person even if that punishment are unjust.

We are still the same as in the middle ages.

Though NCMEC manages such investigations, they are an NPO, the reports would have had to be made to the authorities too who would have conducted their own investigations.

All the public can do, really, is wait on a response by Twitch and or another response by Beahm.

This being raised as a matter in the public's interest, Twitch is in more trouble than Beahm.

Current state of the world I guess. It’s so easy to get people cancelled these days - even for things they never did - that instead of everyone automatically being in the “he’s guilty” camp, more and more people are becoming cynical.

It’s a byproduct of the #MeToo movement, where every rape and abuse allegation made against a celebrity, sportsman or politician instantly turned into a witch hunt. People started taking a step back when it turned out a lot of them weren’t even true. You can only cry “wolf” so many times.

Yeah, I read about this but this is in that rumour/allegations part zone.
Don't punish people on rumours and allegations alone.
Those require further investigation first and then a judge to make a ruling.

It will be pretty interesting to see what happens.

This is a major problem these days.
You can go to the media make fake claims and get somebody fired.

As soon as there is conversation around it, the companies will fire/block a
a person from getting income.

Guilty until proven innocent and once proven innocent.
It does not end when proven innocent people still struggle afterwards.
