Yes, bring back the top down baldurs gate style combat. With maybe the option of zooming in so you can check your characters awsome belt buckles jingle during a fight if you really want to.

Please! It can't be that hard. Just allow the camera to zoom out more and disable following. Bing Bang Boom (been watching new archer) game is already way better and you can actually see what's going on during combat.
