Maybe I just don't like seeing people celebrate when things fail in the hobby I enjoy

When a game I looked forward to turns out disappointing and fails, it makes me sad, not happy

Seeing people wish a game fails before it even launches and then celebrate when it does fail makes me mad

I cannot think of any other hobby where this is the case

Get some thicker skin. It's like people celebrating their football team's rival loses in an embarrassing manner.

Sure it's a bit sad that everyone at Bioware is probably going to be laid off in the next year or so, but such is life. When you hear the development hell DA:V was in, it shouldn't be a surprise.

Three huge failures in a row are usually 2 more than a normal company gets anyway.

The 90's and early 2000's were fekking great man
Back when we were still in unity within our hobby

We had collective joy when a sequel was good and collective disappointment when it wasn't but nobody wished that the sequel to their favorite IP will be bad. That is a modern phenomena

When Casey Hudson left in 2020, I got the feeling that we lost the best chance of another amazing Mass Effect game.

Spend enough time in the hellscape that is Twitter and you will be shocked at how many 'gamers' with 10's of thousands of followers crap on games before they are even out

The amount of hate Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 got before launch is shocking

Example Star Wars: Use to be a huge fan of the series esp with KOTOR and Movies, Clone wars and what not. The crap that now wear the name killed everything Star Wars for me, hell I dont even look at the Star wars Lego sets.

Same sht is happening to games, they killing IP's left right and center.

Of course people should be outspoken. You can't live your life with your head in the sand.

There's no reason whatsoever to wait for release dates. They take years to make and by the time its out we've seen 1/3 of it from previews/trailers/articles/interviews/demos.

Call it like you see it.

At the start no, but now for example in Star Wars, after they killed the IP for me, every time I hear they're making a new <Incert Product> I hope the L is bigger than the last one.

Only thing that would revive my interest in Star Wars is if that KOTOR Remake came out and was good.

Nobody is celebrating their failure.

They are celebrating that their failure has consequences.
