That is some weapons-grade copium you're inhaling right now.

This is PS Plus, which has a completely different model to Gamepass in terms what qualifies for freebie status.

Consistently the larger titles that perform poorly end up on Plus way sooner than anything else.

This is a badge of shame. Just deal with it.

The game sucks. I'm not defending the game

PS Plus still costs money. Almost exactly the same price as Gamepass actually
so how is games launching day 1 on Gamepass fine and 4 months later on PS Plus such a huge disgrace?

It's a big deal because:

a) It's a 3rd party game (not like Bethesda games on GP, which is bankrolled by MS)
b) It's a AAA game that launched a mere 4 months ago at full price
c) It's not even on the extra tier of PS+, which is where they would typically put bigger games, it's on the bottom tier: essential

It's pretty much unprecedented to see a big game like this so early on PS+, never mind on the lowest tier. The game bombed big time.

To add some context, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League took 10 months to hit PS+.

Stalker 2 - 3rd party game day 1 on Gamepass. Day 1 flop of a game?

Why are you comparing it to GamePass, Microsoft pays 3rd party devs millions of dollars to put their games on GP. And there are plenty of games that bomb on GP, Microsoft games included lol

Gamepass games fail, but you don't see people rubbing their hands together with joy going "lol lol day 1 gamepass failed game get rekt big shame"

There are fundamental differences between the two.

If you don't understand the difference between 1st and 3rd party games especially when it comes to MS and their GP model then I don't know what to tell you. Comparing this to DOOM launching on GP makes 0 sense. 3rd party games that sell well on launch that have 'good legs' typically don't end up on PS+ or GP, (ignoring pre-existing contracts like Stalker) these services are proven to affect sales.

1st off Not claiming its a loss or some form of copium.

That said you not comparing apples with apples.

GamePass Ultimate R199.00 P/m (Cheaper tiers dont get all the games day one)
PS Plus Free Games are included in all 3 tiers (R119 - R209)

GamePass Ultimate is a service subscription model, and 3rd party games can be added or removed over time eg a game can be only on for 1 month to a year for 3rd party and always for Microsoft Studio Games. If the game is taken off the list you have to buy it in order to continue playing it. GamePass Core only have a shortlist of Microsoft games and dont get all the day one drops. Also no "free" monthly games.

PS Plus Free games stay in your library once claimed and can be played anytime you have an active Sub. For example, I have PS3 games claimed back in 2010 and can still install and play them on PS3 by simply subscribing to any of the PS Plus tiers.

Sure PS Plus Extra and GamePass Ultimate have some overlab, but GamePass Ultimate contain loads of new releases, where PS Plus Extra mostly consists of older games.
