Hi y'all

Since yesterday afternoon my 100Mb/s Telkom Fibre line is crawling along at less than 1Mb/s.

I've tried speed tests on VOX, Telkom and ISPAfrika accounts - the same result.
I've rebooted router & ONT (number of times), also, no difference.
I'm also corresponding with my ISP to try an resolve the problem.

Can I get log into the ONT to check line quality etc?

Any advice from the masters of the broadband?

Thanks
D

Has anyone here got access to the Telkom system for re creating ports and setting ADSL profiles? I really need some help over here and Telkom guys are not responding.. :o

Are you connected via cable or wifi ?

Have you checked your cap? What's your usage and what's your limit?

Connected via Cable.

I've even bypassed the router and setup a PPPOE connection directly to the ONT.

I've got a 9GB left of my 10GB ISPAfrika account, 400+GB on VOX - not a cap problem.

Interesting..

Reboot your router once more and it should be back to full speed.

Care to explain, please?

I did change over to other ISP's now and all seems fine again.

Unlike xDSL GPON always runs at 2.5/1.25 Gbit/s, while a heavily degraded signal would increase bit error rate I am yet to see a partially broken service due to signal levels. It's normally 100% working or completely broken.

Connectivity issues will likely therefore be as result of some other problem on the network.

In your case, the line had missing information and the incorrect profile was applied onto the session.

Aha - ok that does make alot of sense.

Thanks
