Driver's licence card backlog piling up after DLCA stops producing

I will refuse to apply for a temporary license. They can't make me, and I am more than willing to make my case in front of a magistrate.

If licenses aren't being printed, then an extension of validity is in order until the function of renewal can resume. I have no patience for incompetence. It is not my price to pay.
 
I must say I did my renewal at Centurion RMTC without an appointment, walked in, and 15 min later I walked out, renewal done.

Its one of the fancy new digital sites and it actually works.
Now they just need to incorporate printing of the card at the DLTC and problem will be solved

So what now, will my receipt suffice if I get stopped? Why go get a temporary license if the card could be ready the next day for all I know?

Where exactly are you checking this? Do you have a Web address or something... Waiting for my South African license renewal since end of January 2025...
 
My temp licence has expired while waiting for my card to hit the local licencing dept...
 
OK, I'll admit I'm a genuine blonde - born blonde, and still don't need any colouring to stay that way.
I go for my annual eye test. New lenses required. I select a frame, pay the excess and off I go. A week later I get my new glasses, the optomotrist check that I'm happy and off I go.
Simple!
Fact: Making lenses are a little more complicated than making a driver's licence card. The interesting part - the lenses are made in Germany. WTF are we bothering to try and make them here?

I collected mine last week. Reception at the centre said that not too many people are coming to collect, so I don't think notices are being sent out, yet, and not everyone is checking with NaTIS.
 
Checked now and mine is still not done, I even called them to confirm

I suspect I will get my firearm license before I get my drivers
