Driver's License!!!

any idea where i can do a learners motorbike license near cape town ? willing to drive far if i can still do it this month, like almost the whole of the western cape :D

well learners and motor bike drivers

Thank you... But I have to ask, When did you test for learners? I did mine in Brits, took one day, that was 2006, now its a different story..
I got mine here in Bloemfontein! Dont bother trying here, took me 1.5 hours to book, a 1 month wait and then an entire morning to get it!!!

If the learners expired, shouldn't you do it again though?
Thats what I was also wandering but I see you answered that

Nah, Modderfontein isn't THAT tiny. It had at least 2 houses and a grain silo!

I am so grateful i dont have to worry about drivers license test anymore

The red card that you get? What are the requirements, do I have to do a theoretical + practical test, and how long will it take? How much did you pay? Can you convert it into a South African license...

I'm desperate, will do anything to get a license..:o

My advice is just do the SA license... the Kenyan does involve a rudimentary test but you have to go there for it - it's much cheaper doing it here lol...
Anyone can pass given enough practice... (says he who has never had to do the test lol)... or in the words of the Peddie taxi driver who took me to my hotel from ORT airport "My dad always told me, If a Zulu can pass then I can pass!" :D

oh come on, easier said than done- have you tried calling these effing #$@$@$ to get a booking?
My daughter has been calling 3 times a day for the last month - its such a farking joke - this kenya option is actually something I want to look into now, can't get a licence here, it is way past pathetic.............

news24: I ended up writing a (polite) letter to the city mayor to get an appointment for Learners. Next day someone phoned me asking which date & time would suite me.:D

I sympathise - and agree... my mom lost her license after she didn't get it converted (she was out of town for a year and couldn't get back to do the paperwork). She had to re-do it three times before they passed her, and she had to book three times... apparently some of the driving schools know how to 'book' it...

Definately book it out of town - even go to some place called tweebokkemeteenskootdoodgeskietsvontein if you have to...

Yip, checked options, not twee..........vontein but found this place in Tzaneen - was actually looking for options in Swaziland, found this place, spoke to them at length today - seems promosing - you stay about a week, all meals included, you practice from dawn till dusk in their yard and on the road, and then you pass (unless you really **** up your test)

Cost is R4400 plus the licence fee R180 I think

yip, actually, not bad as you probably end up with a licence - losing hair here trying to get a booking, and if you manage to get one, it won't even be at a testing station that suits you - it is the most ****ked up system in the world - and with girl child at varsity no time for Gauteng stooopid ****ken system so Tzaneen here we come!!!!
