Drivers phones to be 'impounded'

It should be law that all new cars with radios have bluetooth kits built into them IMO.

Given the price of new cars it's only a fraction of the cars price.

Can they please also impound people/passengers and not only cellphones that causes distractions....
Would like to see the officials deal with the misses moaning and bitching for an day. :D

Good idea though they must be fair,my friend almost got fined for taking his phone out his back pocket because it was annoying him.

please also impound the following that is being fondled or used during driving time:

Babies
Pads
Makeup
Papers
Dinner
Shaving devices
Children
Spouses
Cigarettes

...please don't stop at phones.

If you touch my coffee I'll Kiiieeel you!!

How often do we see Officials driving and talking and texting on cell phones - officials meaning traffic police and without seat belts on either. Although I am not against the law, the problem is the law applies to everyone and the law must be manageable which this won't. There is going to be all hell let lose if they try this and "lose" phones which is a guarantee.

I foresee the second hand price of cell phones taking a huge dip, the insurance claims for cell phones increasing as will the premiums and a whole lot of 2nd hand buyers sitting with blacklisted phones.

I also by the way hate it when people text or are not on a car kit whilst driving.

I drive better when I'm using my phone. I get bored otherwise and lose concentration.

They have started taking away peoples phones yesterday in Cape Town. I know of some people who have bought cheap phones they can "sacrifice" if need be :D
