Dropbox to acquire e-mail management company Mailbox

Mailbox is a truly great app. Hopefully this acquisition only means good things for the Mailbox team

I am in the queue. 48,000 to go. Should reach there late tomorrow, early Thursday

I have seen it in operation on a friends iPhone and I loved the concept

I did however hear that it didnt do attachments well?

$100 million for a company with no revenue and no plan on how to generate any income. There is talent there and the product seems good despite the ridiculous artificial scarcity gimmick but these sort of valuations make me worry.

Which is where I suspect the Dropbox acquisition comes in. Dropbox is great for large attachments.

Enjoy it when you get it. It changes how you deal with email

Until they learn about Android, no use to me. Also as far as i can see, isn't Mailbox still piggy backing on top of Gmail? I would be more interested if they were actually going for a totally new email box (combined with dropbox).

Gmail and Drive is already integrated, you can save/attach your attachments straight to and from Drive (or simply link/share them if they are too big, with a single click) . This was enough reason for me to use Drive over Dropbox...

They just use gmail infrastructure. They change how you interact with it
