Dropped call? Get free airtime

I used this ages ago but gave up because of the painfull manner in which it works *surprise surprise*
Once you dial the reconnect number and finally get connected it asks you to type in the number you just got disconnected from...which frankly is a pain in the butt as I never know what the number is, just john or peter or whatever. There really should be an automatic dial to your last number..I have not used it in a few years so they may have instituted a better procedure but Im guessing not. Why make a benifit too easy to get, its not cost effective...

MTN said that they don’t offer the reconnect service and that they do not offer any free minutes on dropped calls. Cell C did not provide any feedback by the time of publication, but there is no evidence that they have a reconnect service or offer free minutes for dropped calls.

IMHO the 2 biggest culprits. obviously making a mint from their substandard services, so why would you refund if the intention was to defraud in the first place

119 not a solution

Have any of you ever tried phoning 119? Someone mentioned that it asks you to enter the number you called when your call was disconnected... but that's not all! There a small quiz your first have to answer... what phone were using etc. Most people don't have the time for that... they just need the call reconnected asap.

So NO, 119 is not a remedy for disconnected calls... even if you get the first minute for free. You actually have to "work" to get the minute :p. That's probably one of the reasons it's not widely known even though it existed since the early days of Vodacom - people who've used it won't bother to tell others about their "painful" experience.

As good as it is, I would expect an auto-dial feature. Now you either have to use your phone on speaker to see the number or first write down the number...
