Dropped laptop

It won't boot.. hard drive shows up in the bios. but cant find bootable disk.

what are the chances of getting data off the hard drive ?

and what toll should i be using ? recover cd ? usb hard drive enclosure ?

I'd do enclosure.

And you should run hard drive as little as possible until you're ready to get the data off it.

Just check with them - that price is normally for ' any' data, not ' all ' data.

Thats about the average price out there. Just couriered a laptop drive for data recovery this afternoon.

NO NOT THAT converter the the one that don't need any enclosure.Also get a copy of spinrite and boot that up,if it finds the drive then you my friend is in luck

the professionals kit,i bought mine at a place called sountech,cheap but it works.Another thing you could try is look at the drive and push your thumb an index finger on either side of the drive and squeeze hard.try to convex the top of the drive.This might get it spinning again.
