Drove over carpet inner on highway

So I was driving on the highway today and the grey fluffy thing that usually goes under the carpet flew into my path and I drove over it at 120Km/hr and I felt my car going over it. I just want to know if that would be a problem and if there is anything I should look out for?

A quick suggestion is to look under the wheel arches, under the car to see if any bits are remaining

I expect it would have flown off at that speed

Did you hear a thud or thump, any kind of noise that sounded bad? I reckon driving over a carpet is none-issue. I drove over a log once; about ~Ø20cm my car seemed fine other than needing the alignment fixed.

Apart from the car going over it, not really. Car must hace gone up by about 5cm going over it.

Yet another weird car thread from you, just knew it when I read the Title that it was a post from you, you really stress about nothings :ROFL: .
 
Bits and pieces of the carpet in the engine bay or around the exhaust. Other than that, if it still drive smooth and drives straight you have no worries
 
Check the tyres for paperclips. There's always one or two stuck in my carpet.

If you can save two pieces of the liner you can use one for checking the oil and the other for checking your transmission fluid level. A spare piece can be used to mop up any fluid on the wheel wells.

Keep another piece in the boot. Rolled up tightly it can be wedged behind one, or more, of the wheels to prevent the car from rolling backwards on an incline.
 
Is no one going to mention anything about the speed? Anything up to 90km/h is fine for driving over carpet inner, more than that and you're looking for trouble. Its been widely documented to cause damage to the undertray muffler delete housing harness valve.

OP, I would take it to a mechanic ASAP. no more than 40-50km/h
