DSD990 flashing "ddd"

What does it mean if my dstv decoder - DSD990 - is flashing "ddd"?

I have unplugged it - AND nadda, nothing - still flashing "ddd".

Sounds more serious. You'll probably have to take it to MC or an agent.

Had the same problem with our 990, MC said it was the power supply. They wanted R350 to swop it out. I put it in the bin, new one was R399.

Try a forced software upgrade by doing the following:
Reset the decoder by pressing and releasing MENU and DOWN ARROW on the front panel simultaneously.
Your decoder will flash dL.
While dL is flashing, press STANDBY.
Then press UP ARROW.
Then press DOWN ARROW.
Then press STANDBY button again.
The decoder will now show dL and start the download process.
