So I have an oldish D-link 300T dsl modem connected to a Linksys WRT54GL wireless router. The modem is setup in bridge mode and I have a dial-up connection (wireless) from the laptop. When I try and change the modem to PPPOE mode and input the login details, it crashes and I have reboot the modem. Any idea why that might be? I have tried to disconnect it from the Linksys and use an ethernet cable just to eliminate the router. I have also upgraded the firmware. I have tried different ISPs (Webafrica and Afrishost), but no luck. Any advice would be appreciated.
