DSL account problems

I have a 3 gb account with imaginet which is semi-shaped.

During the day i get better ping of 500 or lower but at night i get above 600 with World of Warcraft. In guildwars the ping is so jumpy.

Is it imaginet problem or IS problem want to fix this, cause I had this problem since i signed up with imaginet and they havent fixed it yet or given a solution.

There are various things that can effect ping times, network congestion at the times you are playing, server load etc. Imaginet is a reseller, but they would lias with IS to solve the problem if it is related to the IS network. It might also be due to problems on your physical line, I'd log a fault with Telkom or Imaginet if they deal with the ADSL portion of your line.

Also, in my experience the US servers tend to have more latency than the EU ones. Mine is consistently around the 500-600ms mark.

Indeed, I'm never really below the 600 ms mark on Second Life servers. But the quality varies, even if your provider is more or less just a reseller. So far my subjective latency hitparade:
1. Axxess (IS)
2. OpenWeb (unshaped IS)
3. Telkom (SAIX)
4. Neotel (lol)
5. Afrihost (IS)

I am using the EU server here and can see big difference between my shaped telkom account and imaginet account.

I dont think its telkom fault or anything cause telkoms ping is normal for shaped, but imaginet is super high when i checked last night to see if anything changed.

I did report a fault to imaginet so hoping they fix it so i can play with my bro again in arenas.
