Dear All,

Any advice will be greatly appreciated to ensure minimum down time.

Objective.
Move DSL connection from 3rd party ISP to Telkom. {actually a forth party using a 3rd party}

Current state.
The line will move into the "Telkom Wholesale Holding Pool" by 2019/01/01. {4th party virtual ISP indicated this}

Specific question.
How will I know the line had really been put into the "Telkom Wholesale Holding Pool"?
Is there some MAC code the existing provider must provide which I need to present to Telkom?

The why?
I advise for a great many years, ensure you keep any line with the infrastructure owner. Many reasons for this.
Buy your data from whatever ISP you prefer.
In this case the relationship with the 4th party is no longer healthy. DSL connections must be moved to infrastructure owner Telkom for long term solution.

Various forum threads here have some bearing on this.
I see this post dated 2015.06.29.

Thank you very much,

You should phone Telkom Retail (10213) and ask to check that your details are up to date, like your home address and your contact number. If you give them your phone number as the main contact, they can send you an SMS to alert you when the line is in the holding pool, because that notice is sent out automatically.

Try cancelling your ADSL line held directly with Telkom, I think you will change your tune.

Dear Deweyzeph,

Your account indicated you contributed to a great many posts in this forum.
The subject of this thread is not related to cancellation, please keep within the scope of the discussion.

Thank you.

Some feedback on this.

On 2019.01.12 Telkom claimed the DSL exchange connection had been migrated successfully.

Line had been up ever since the process was started.
No idea how or why.
