I ordered my DSL line on Friday morning, it's already installed and working this morning (Monday). So that's less than 2 working days. I am sure this is some sort of record. I have moved 3 times in the past 2 years and each time its been shorter and shorter. I am not one for expressing my gratitude to Telkom but it must be said, that was fast.

thats soooo not fair lol

Had that with mine too - Ordered on a Friday, got a call to collect the Router the following Monday.

Problem - The wrong line was patched, took 14 additional days to fix.

I am waiting for my "but". Now it's fine but just waiting on something else that doesn't work.

The new house had an existing line right?

Anyone have any experience of new line installation recently?

Installation of a new physical line, or a new account on an existing physical inactive line?

I'm going through the latter at the moment.

To answer your questions about the line, it's a new block so no lines were there. They took 2 weeks to come and install the line, perfectly acceptable for my timeframe. Then once the line was installed I called for the self install on Friday. If I asked for a technician to come and install the DSL and phoneline at the same time, well I guess that would have been a longer wait. Also wanted the free modem and save R342 (again, did the same for the other installs) or whatever it is.
