Hi all!

Has anyone migrated their DSL line from Telkom to another ISP recently?

Call centre agents said i should send an email to tocfaxes@telkom for the request. I received an acknowledgment email which is a service cancellation request.

Can anyone confirm this is the correct process? I've been waiting for a several days now and got 0 feedback

Unfortunately that is the new process that Telkom appear to have introduced...

Dear Customer

We hereby acknowledge receipt of your cancellation request. One of our agents will contact you within 48 to 72 business hours.

Ridiculous...

thats only to get back to you? :wtf: then its still going to be downtime while the change over happens as far as what i have heard. at that rate, you could be without a connection for a week or more

I sent an email to the same address and they called me after 2 days to just ask for confirmation that I wanted to migrate, why I wanted to migrate as well as confirm my ID number etc. The next day I got an email from them saying I can now migrate the line and that in 5 days my adsl line will be unavailble.

I then told my ISP to migrate the line to them and they told me if the migration happens within the next 5 days I won't experience any downtime but they also said it can take upto 2 weeks :/
