I believe its done at their side? they just adjust something on their system, or perhaps at the exchange.. I don't think it could take longer than 1-2 days.. Maybe even just a few hours

No more than a few minutes < 2 min - depending on the BEE candidate....

if go though another isp, its like week them, direct with telkom its same day normally

If you're with Telkom for line rental, easiest to phone the number (0800 DSL DSL) and ask them to upgrade it. It's usually done very quickly that way. If your ISP has to do it then what I did was submit the application and the next day I phoned Telkom to escalate the order and was done within an hour or two.

If you apply on a weekday and you pay Telkom for your ADSL connection (and not an ISP), then it should be done within the hour.

Well it depends on what time of the day you call. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes, usually I get hold of a consultant instantly. (Always during the week, never during lunch hours - not on a Friday unless urgent haha)
