Hi Guys,

Telkom is coming to install my ADSL tomorrow, and I need to get a modem ASAP. I need something that’s cheap...and well...cheap (I guess it must also work well) .

I need a modem with an Ethernet adapter, and must not be USB.

Anybody got any ideas/recommendations/prices?

thanks,

you can try www.jump.co.za they have the billion routers, which are cheaper than D-Link & Netgear, but I doubt you'll have it by tommorow.

I got a 5102SM from Jump. It's pretty good - pure modem though, no router, also it's plug and pray, so it "just works".

Where are you located? If in the Randburg Gauteng area, PC international have the linksys 4 port ethernet router for around R900 - can't go wrong - and it is also wireless G.

I would suggest the Linksys ADSL2MUE modem. It connects either via USB or Ethernet. It has no extra LAN ports, but does do DHCP. It is also ADSL2 ready, and can be upgraded to ADSL2+ in the future.
You can get it from http://www.pcmall.co.za for R446.62 Incl. VAT. Expect delivery next day. Great service.
