Yeah, I use RouteSentry.

IS and SAIX based account for local/International.

Speed was perfect entire afternoon, downloading around 420 - 460 (IS News Server plus a couple of HTTP Links in Flash Get) and bout 40 minutes ago it just fell to around 20 - 40 where it is atm. It has burst back to 350ish for around 1 minute at a time twice now, but thats it.

I have done a modem reset, a PC reboot twice. Everything still syncs perfectly at 4096 and 384. SNR Margin and Attenuastion is perfect (8Mbit capable).

Oh yeah, latency is around 1200 - 1400 on google.com (SAIX Account) and 600 - 800 on games.saix.net (IS Account)

Anyone else having issues with speed, or know what the problem could be?
 
Speed seems to have been restored again

Edit: just went down again, bout 30 seconds after I posted that.

Pings back to the thousands from 340 and 60 respectivly
 
I'm DL-ing at about 100KB/s internationally on IS 4 Meg so its not totally dead but not great.
 
Take a look at the date. Those that hold telkom dsl account, WILL download past their caps, slowing everything and everyone. I do not blame them, getting their money's worth for something that should be cheaper than it is. This happens every month. Download managers seem to get full speeds for some reason...
 
Yeah, I just decided to join them and put my download manager on :)
 
Also having problems this morning....My SAIX Int account is DEADLY slow...can't load any international sites. :(

IS is working like a charm though :D
 
my webafrica (saix) account is almost completely dead with international sites :/

anyone know what's going on?
 
my webafrica unshaped went slow yesterday around 23:00



I configured the proxy server in Internet Explorer as 196.25.253.13 port 8080

and it seems to be much better.

I am appalled to see that even for unshaped accounts, Telkom still caches the HTTP requests ...

Is there nothing we can do about ? I want an uncached un-proxied port 80 connection !! and I thought that by subscribing to UNSHAPED this would be the case.

it also seems that this ugly telkom cache messes up on some european sites, as it comes to entering sites with a username and password. Some of my customers who want to access their webmail are blocked at the validation point. When used on a SSH tunnelling to a european server, it works perfectly. Another bad thing with telkom ADSL....

My SAIX webafrica account also intermittently died. Zero to crap slow international access. Slow local access.

Its like a fat dude is standing on the damn pipe!
 
Mine Just suddenly went at about 3:35am this morning, was busy doing some stuff and then it just came to a halt, its working, but barley, taking forever to resolve pages still doing the same now
 
Well my line is totally dead now. i.e
