DSL SPEED

I upgraded a couple of days ago... from 384 line to 4meg line same situation as you and yeah its true! you should get about 430KB/s!

but... (there is a but!) it depends so much on where you download from (more than i thought) for instance a torrent download only gives me about 100KB/s, thats also because of telkom shaping the cr@p out of torrents, however, having said that, when downloading from international servers, expect it to be slower!

nice just imagine thats still slow to international requirements...i wonder how it would be when he have superfast internet like in japan and korea...

Yap, but 20 % is reduce due to upload connection?
So rather 4096/10
= 400 kb/s

Actually, a 4096kbps line is capable of 83% maximum capacity -> KBps -> 425KBps....
And the loss in speed is due to packet acknowledgement (TCP traffic to actually get your line running)

ya, something like that!

ya, something like that!

No, not "something like that". Comparing TCP traffic/headers with "Yap, but 20 % is reduce due to upload connection?" is absurd. In any case, you should have thanked froot for the info and not just fire away with a stupid reply like "ya, something like that!". Did your mom never teach you manners lad?
