From the recent notification that Animax will be terminated there has been a slew of questions regarding the measurement of channel performance.

According to MC Marietjie from the DSTV Forum - http://forum.dstv.com/showpost.php?p=69400&postcount=3

Research is done using the following means:
- TAMS audience measurements
- Viewer weekly diaries
- DStv-i (which measures actual viewing, not recalled viewing like the weekly diaries do)
- e-mail surveys
- focus groups and market research
- ad hoc feedback from customers eg DStv Forum, e-mails, phone calls to call centre

I would like to know if the mods can actually include a multiple option poll for this to see how many members of MBB have in the past or even in the present took part in any or all of the Channel Performance Reviews.

From myself.
I have taken part in 1 or two e-mail surveys and also the forum.
Whether the forum can be considered as an unbiased reflection regarding channel performance is up for debate considering their use of "spam filters" to auto moderate subscriber opinions.

PM me with the possible poll options (max 10) and I'll see what I can do.

how about add "none" I have been a DSTV subscriber for over 10yrs now and have never been approached for any DSTV poll!

Perhaps this would be better served on the DSTV forums, where the DSTV subscribers who care about Animax would most likely be looking?

You mean the heavily censored forums?

I dont visit those forums.

What I do do, is understand how businesses work. If animax is being removed there must be a very good reason behind it;

1. channel underperforms in all research conducted by multichoice. (low viewer numbers; advertisers avoid the channel)
2. channel revenue is low (no advertising)
3. cost to broadcast channel has increased

One can easily look at the TAMS data (etc) on the SAARF site, go have a look SAARF

If one is banned / moderated on the forum directly related to your quarrel, is taking it to another forum and linking back to said original forum a good idea?

I did do surveys for dstv on channel viewship etc. They ask you to rate channels according to your package.

And yeah animax was headed for this, when I saw normal movies been aired lol
