DStv BoxOffice access fee fight

I'm confused. What is this extra fee required to access it? DSTV subscription? Or am I paying something else I'm not aware of?

I think it refers to the standard access fee, if you are not paying it already.

The access fee unlocks the pvr functionality on the Explora which includes BoxOffice.

Why are Advertisers not FINED heavily for these breaches?
They know that they can get away so do so deliberately...like the CSP's !

And in other exciting news, no-one did anything. Nothing happened. Paint dried quietly in the background.

Isn't it the normal access fee? The one you pay for HD/PVR/Boxoffice/Now etc?

In fact this whole issue is a mess on both sides ....

(1) BO is available to anyone, if downloaded over the Internet at a fixed price per movie, No Access fee is payable.
(2) BO IS ONLY available on a PVR decoder, and there is an "Access fee" payable to be able to use the PVR facilities on a PVR decoder. There is NO special Access fee payable for BO.

So MC did a terrible job of preparing the advertisement, but so did the person complaining ... they failed to understand what the real situation is.
In fact in all these years, MC have failed to explain what the "Access Fee" is for and what it covers, there are many misconceptions about how it works, even within MC .....

Personal media servers doesn't require an access fee
