DSTV channel 180

Am I alone in not being able to get this channel. All other channels in my subscription work.

One of those lifestyle channels i think, massive loss it would seem not to have it working . Could be a cooking a channel or a kenya only channel.

Go, BBC L (180), KTVallDay and I think one other is gone.

So, upgraded to Compact. DSTV gains, but Vodacom loses. Shame.

I have compact,its infinitly frustrating...although once a week all the channels are availible to me for half a day,strange...but hey im not complaining

I think you should get the full package or go back to SABC.

I love my dstv long time specially this weekend, omw the amount of sport is just ridiculous, just got my new recliner ahhhhhhhhhhhhh cannot wait to chill out in a recliner for the first time in my life and watch all this amazing sport. Damn i am boring and old now at age 28

I also have the compact. K-All Day will be replaced by a new kids channel called Koowee on 6 April with local crap. It will be on DStv Select. Go will only be renamed in June this year and was never available on Select or Compact. I don't know what's up with BBC Lifestyle though... And thats it. PS: I think this thread should be moved to the appropriate subforum?

I'm downgrading to Compact. I looked at Select but they dont allow for the SD-PVR.

SHHHHHHHH!!!! Ratman!!! It happens to me as well. It can last for over 2 days sometimes and happens every 32 days. Then you can watch ALL channels, including the specialist, Indian, Portuguese, German and Multichoice "secret" trial channels. Do you have a DSD 990 decoder? But please, never repeat what you said above, we don't want this info to spread out so that Multichoice can find a "cure".

I believe you. It really does happen to me too. I have figured out that it happens exactly every 32 days to my decoder, but then, if my decoder doesn't reboot itself, I can watch full DSTV with Indian, Portuguese and German channels for up to 2 days before they cut me off. Do you plug your decoder out at the wall before you go to bed?

Actually, no. It's a decoder "fault" that you will only find in the UEC DSD 990 decoders. Every month they change the overall encryption keys for DStv, and if your DSD 990 is unplugged from the wall during the time they change the keys then when you switch the decoder back on you have free FULL DStv for a day to a max of 2 days before the decoder checks the keys again and corrects them. This is no joke, and only a few people have actually discovered this. You don't even need to be subscribed at all, you just need the decoder.

It is done on purpose,its called "promoting the premium package".It work on EVERY decoder and you don't have to unplug it.They just remove the irdeto.It happens virtually every week or 2 for 1 day and evry month for 2 days.Also every Christmast day everybody gets full access.

I really don't know where you get that from. When you watch BTV on channel 137, you will find there is no irdeto encryption on that channel at all. When you press menu and then info or something, then one of those info panels will say either "Service Is Not Scrambled", like with BTV which does not have an encryption, or "Service Is Descrambled" when the channel is encrypted and the decoder decrypts the signal. When this whole thing happens once every month (not every week. this has never ever been a weekly thing for my decoder) then the info panel says "Service Is Descrambled". And the encryption never goes back off all at once. Only certain channel goes off first, then some other channels, then the last remaining channels.
If you or someone else experience this phenomenon on a weekly basis then that proves my point that this is not Multichoice removing the enryption on the channels, because this whole thing only happens to me once a month.

I said every week OR 2...normally on a Sunday or Monday
Sometimes its only Mnet that is open.
Sometime all channels are open except the supersport ones.
BTV is not scrambled cuz its free.Have you noticed that you don't have epg on btv?You can still watch BTV on your dstv decoder "in fta mode".
