DStv compact

I was very surprised that we almost never watch the movies on DSTV. They seem to have been selected by someone with an odd taste in 'B' movies. If there's a black actor in a major or minor role - they buy it regardless of quality. Can't black people relate to white actors?? Few of the movies stands out as a 'definitely watch that', unlike on SKY TV where it is a big event when a new movie comes on.

We NEVER record anything either. We used to record the terrestrial channels a lot, but now don't bother.

Daytime TV is extremely disappointing too - so find something else to do on your days off.

Repeats are shown quite a lot, but we always find something interesting on the documentaries like Discovery/National Geographic & History. Now if these were on compact, we might downgrade!

i see they've added some new channels to the dstv compact bouquet, amongst others: cnn, espn (don't think it was there before?), national geographic, bbc food... 23 channels in all (excluding etv and sabc channels)

getting quite tempting, at R199... ;)

List all channels with seperate prices, allow the customer to create his own 'bouquet'. Heck even a saving of R10 per month would be worth not to have drivel like RealityTV or Channel O. Obviously MNET, MM1/2 and SS account for about 80% of the cost with Discovery/Hallmark and the Music Channels making up another 15%. At the end getting rid of the junk would mean a max at best 5% saving but over a period of 2-3 years that's a substantial amount of money saved.
