DSTV components for installation

I got my gardener to do the install for me. i.e.)LNB alignment and cabling. He does this for a day job and says that installers always rip off the clients by telling them to replace working parts and charge labour for it even though the issue is mainly based of cabling or interference issues. he wanted a third of what the installer quoted and told me he just wants to make a living not rip of people...

Remember that the retailers can attract volumes of installation requests so it means more work for installers at a reduced rate. win-win for retailer, installer and client I guess. I got my dstv installed back in dec 08. thinking back, Icould've got it done myself fro 2/3 of the price game charged me but anyways. we learn everyday.

That is true too... but the dodgy installers with no integrity and the big shops with their ridiculously cheap voucher work, are spoiling the industry for the real pros. There is a lot of substandard work being done because the pros are being undercut by some guy with no experience looking for a quick buck, as well as a lot of people being ripped off because they don't know what they are paying for.
