DSTV Drifta

Just got my Drifta today to watch SS when not at a tv. I am also waiting for the Android application. Interestingly, instructions on how to install the Android software is included in the box. I cannot find the app on the software market, so I am hoping that it will appear there sooner than later.
 
Got a SMS saying they'll be adding the new channels on Monday, and that they'll be no Drifta Access from 5am-11am on that day.
 
No ETA yet. But updates for iOS App :(

DSTV seems to be forgetting that there is a huge following of Android supporters

Has anyone (not a current Multichoice subscriber) received the billing info for DSTVMobile? R36 monthly from April 01, I have not received any info from them yet, except for an sms in March that I should expect one with the info.

A couple of times, my Drifta suddenly says "Signal is scrambled" then after a while it works well again. I don't know how to interpret this, is payment due already, or is this some other problem?

I experienced a few "signal scrambled" issue too. Then it became a permanent "signal scrambled", i had to phone the tech dept (031-7012222) in order for them to reset the device. As for payment, i received an E-mail from DSTV stating that I will enjoy free drifta service until March 2012 :confused: :D I dont think yours is a payment related issue, more technical issue, phone them, WARNING: be prepared to be irritated to no end by that stupid automated menu options, drives me nuts.
 
how different is iOS to OSX that they haven't made an app for that yet?
 
What is the 3G functionality for? Reason I ask, Im interested in using the device as a mifi device too. Think its possible?
 
mifi device ? seriously doubt you would be able to use it as a wireless internet device ... locked down big time

Are you sure there's 3G functionality within the Drifta? There's no slot for a sim card.
 
3G functionality in the Drifta ?? lol , That doesn't sound right.

I know the Drifta is basically recieving DVB-H Signal (Normal Decoder for Digital Signal)

Correct. There is no 3G GSM anywhere on the Drifta. The wireless hotspot is just usefull to connect the device you want to view tv on.
 
Would have been nice, as the reception seems quite good through the Drifta (Connection status shows 30mbit sometimes down to 9mbit)

im also waiting. wish dstv would tell us whats happening?
