DSTV Drifta

Wish they had a rep here, as registering for (another) forum for support or one off questions is rather annoying. Don't they know that most other tech companies offer customer service to savvy users on MyBB?

I have the same problem ( I think ) as my device does not get picked up on my main windows / internet installation, I have two other windows installations on my HD where the drifta works but I don't use those for any other work. And random PC's at work may or may not detect the drifta.

M/C don't even answer many questions on their own forums - I was more thinking of asking them "personally" with a visit with your equipment.

Anyone struggling to get signal around Centurion area?

I never get a signal lock inside my house. I walk into the garden, switch on the Drifta there and wait for a signal lock and then take it back in. If I do this is shows I have full signal inside my house :D

Now this really is funny. :D :D :D

The repetitions will drive you up the walls!

Maiyo Simapungula, DStv's PR and communications manager, said consumer research has shown that mobile TV consumers tended to watch content in bite sizes, hence the repetitions.

"Made for mobile essentially means that the channels are optimised for the mobile viewing environment by having looped (repeat) content over a specific period," Simapungula said.

"This means that there is two hours of repeated content. At the end of the two hours the same content repeats itself for another two hours and so on until a 24-hour period is reached ... and a fresh new two hours begins to play.

"The two hours looped content is a week behind what you currently see on direct-to-home DStv."

WHAT A LOAD OF BULL CR@P !!!!

Maybe repetitions are good if you are a fan of africa magic or like watching Generations the whole day. The fact of the matter is that the only channels worth watching is Sony Max and CNN. Cartoon channel can be dropped with pleasure and the same goes for all but one sports channel, africa magic (I wonder who thought up that name?) and channel "O", altought channel "O", is ETV's channel. Please don't forget "Trace"!!!!

I saw the drifta is available on android. Will my LG P500 optimus work on it?

Beware, drifta not supported on jailbroken devices.
