DStv Explora 3 vs Explora 2 - Decoder comparison

my sd pvr finally gave up the ghost and i was given 2 of these

Why another article on this subject? What purposes does it serve to keep pushing the same information over and over again?
Was the previous article found to be wanting?

Did Apple buy shares in Multichoice? New model less features, though they kept the price the same

on this i ran 3 tvs. so 2 shared the same view (i think the helper and guest). thankfully this setup was never tested. the other was in my bedroom.

after a bit of time, i got the telkom lit box in the bedroom.

so the 2 shared connections are now actually an explora 3 each.

Stll have the very first dstv explora and I'm happy with it won't change

Same weight too :D though it is meaningless in a contraption whose hardware continues its slide towards being one step short of dog-turd in features

This decoder has 1080p output compared to my explora 1 that gave up the ghost

I know they broadcast in half HD but the output of the explora 1 is 720p or 1080i. Explora 3 has a 1080p output option and it seems to be a better quality picture.

in other words, the new decoder provides for 1080p setting as default?

The Explora 2A provided for: 576p50, 720p50, 1080ip50, 1080p50, 720p60, 1080i60, 1080p60
The Explora3A is the same as above.

Interesting. Wonder why MC failed to highlight that in all their comparisons. At least there would be one positive about the new decoder.

BTW, the older decoders can also offer that. Even the HD PVRs could and did before a sw "upgrade" removed the option.

Its dog crap made in South Africa buy people who don't even know wat a circuit board or transistor is, multichoice hands out work to disadvantage people, they get rich overnight, sport cars, million rand houses, at the expense of dstv subscribers, give jobs to real electronics engineers that studied hard, unfair giving a soldering iron to a sweeper to build a decoder, we all work hard to get somewhere, stop the handouts reduce our dstv premiums!
