DStv faces renewed threat from piracy

more rubbish from Multichoice lol. I love the way they compare themselves to Netflix, Prime lol. They're not even nearly, remotely, not even universally close to the technology, content, and experience of Netflix, AppleTV, Prime etc. They're just money-making shills complaining because of piracy lol.

How about: Providing a superior product at a decent price? And NO region locking.
Because then you can't pump funds into their other group companies and you have a scapegoat for why the business is rubbish lol.

"
It includes machine learning analyses of online behaviour, flagging suspicious patterns, and using a ranking algorithm to prioritise takedown targets, fast and at scale.

It also employed real-time detection for live events to detect and remove illegal streams before they go viral."

Would also be very interested to know what they're collecting from their users behavior, on mobile apps, web streaming app etc... sounds interesting.

Oh, boo-hoo, cry me a river.

With the assistance of ai, I built a fully automated "arr stack" that automatically downloads my series as they are released and adds it to my library.

Gone are the days of visiting dodgy piratebay sites, I browse new movies on Jellyseerr- it looks very much like Netflix.

Why would I pay for something, if I can self host all the content I will ever need...for free?

Yep. Truly a fascinating seesaw of an industry, guarantees more massive changes coming soon..... with or without Multiploos making the right efforts for users.

Well, sounds like your method may be borderline within legalities, but if we all did that then how could the industry survive?

I don't have time to deal with self hosting and the related HDD and energy costs to keep that up. Rather just pay $3 p/m.

You wouldn't download a car?

Why is the industry (or any industry for that matter) survival my problem?

$3pm, for one service, then next month its going to $5pm, with ads.

Then you find out you want to watch the new Dexter, but you need another $4pm service to watch that.

See why people are returning to the 7 seas?

Boomerang effect, it all adds up. Nobody can say you should, or any of us should, but if we don't collectively we ruin our own future entertainment.

One of those debates that maybe has no real solution - too many couldn't give a shyte , in the present anyway.. ;)

DSTV having a rough time, how many piracy articles is that now?
