I'm thinking about moving over to DSTV compact from M-net stand alone. Problem is that we have 4 tv's at home and everyone watching one channel would be a massacre!(literally!)

So my question is, how do I get each tv with an independent dstv with the lowest of cost? (a dual view for each tv would be too expensive)

Sorry i think your only option is to get two duel views or you could wait for ODM by the end of this year and see what they have to offer

By the way if you dont know what ODM is its the new pay TV service launching fourth quarter of this year similiar to DSTV

What about one of those card sharing wi-fi thingies?

doubt it they will work since the card and decoder are now linked (married) so anything in between won't work.

DSTV has Xtraview, using the 1110 decoders, multiple decoders can be linked up. I'm not sure if it can handle more than two decoders.

1 x Dreambox DM600 plus 3 x DM100 using your subbed card.

EDIT: Plus of course a QUAD LNB

Using DSTV the most channels you can watch live is 3 by using a SDPVR & HDPVR combo (you can record another 3), SDPVRs are hard to find though

What about SD PVR+SD PVR, thats 4 channels, extra view option activated.

SD + SD xtra view not possible.

As for ODM... They will probably have very limited content available at first. Will take a few years for them to establish themselves. My advice is, don't wait for ODM. You will wait long for them to become real competition.

What about 2x(2x1110->Power Splitter)->Power Slitter->4 way Splitter? Crazy... But you never know, it just might work.

If you're suggesting what I think you are suggesting... you will have to pay 2 x 1110 xtraview subscriptions.
