DSTV HD channel differance

For the vast majority of movies & sport I've watch on the HD channels its pretty apparent the source content is HD (1280x720), although a few of the segments on DiscHD have looked a bit SDish.

Do yourself a favour and go to DStv's own forums and have a look at the number of shows DStv have shown as SD upscaled on their channels in the last two weeks alone.

This along with their gigantic new logos, take your chance on whether it is HD or not, and lack of response to complaints on their own forums, and my favourite show House now in SD after last season was on HD (please explain logic there), I am seriously wondering if it is worth it.
Cricket season is over so not watching much sport, and I buy or hire the blu-rays I really want to watch 6 months before they are on DStv.
I downloaded a few shows as I really did not want to watch them in SD, and seriously side-by-side DStv looks worse.

You specifically mention movies and sport, and yes they do get that right more often than not, but the TV Series side is seriously disappointing.

OK I dont watch series on DSTV, the few that I do watch I've already seen by the time they're shown here. So I'm pretty happy with HD, anyways my house (wife & 3 sons) is football mad, taking away HD would cause a riot.
