I just got my HD PVR setup and wow the 3 HD channels are amazing!
Makes such a difference!
Any idea when they are bringing more channels over to the HD-Side?

Nobody knows that.

They're converting a bunch of channels to widescreen but again, no mention of which ones exactly.

If I had to make an educated guess, I'd say a dedicated movie channel in HD (maybe a simulcast of MM1) and also Animal Planet HD judging from the ads on Discovery HD.

I much prefer watching stuff in HD. I purposely look out movies on 170 to record. The sport on HD is also amazing. To think we put up with SD for so long ... can't believe it. I wish they had full HD though (1080p). I also look forward to more HD channels.

I do the same....skim through 170 for movies etc coming up in the week, then record them. I hope some of the Dakar will be in HD...that will be amazing!!! :D

The two new HD channels aren't showing on my HD PVR, it skips from 170 to 180. I did a rescan and checked for new software. Any idea what I can do?

They should convert them all to their native aspect ratios like the director intended you to see the content. And no I don't own a widescreen tv.

The sound on the HD channels are extremely low, need to put the tv on 100 volume, and when you switch over your ears want to burst. the HD pvr as alot of flaws like the remote not keeping up with your commands ranging from , skipping forward a program on playlist 10 to 40 secs after you had pressed the damn pause or play. after switching between my divx dvd player and tv, it completely malfunctions NO HDCP and i need to restart the whole thing, All updates have been taking place. Did i mention it takes a good 3 minutes or more for the thing to start up before viewing. Even the channel guide is extremely slow. Only a bit of cloudy weather and youll notice things. I really hope they get some quality firmware for the PVR because the HD channels truely are amazing

Reboot & rescan again, they will eventually appear. (and be sure you not in favourites mode and havent added them to favourites)

Sound, thats cos you have it set on the surround sound option but are not using surround sound. Discovery doesnt have any other option so it will have to do for now
No HDCP, changing sources on your TV somehow makes it lose the HDCP authentication. On mine for example if I go HDMI to anything besides Component then it gives me NO HDCP, so if I need to go to AV for example I go HDMI > Component > AV and then its fine, as long as I go to Component first, fiddle around & you might find a similiar "solution". btw, the UEC one does not do this

When is the UEC one available? Wish they'd just sell a decoder - not really interested in PVR.
