DSTV HD Channels

The sound on the HD channels are extremely low, need to put the tv on 100 volume, and when you switch over your ears want to burst. the HD pvr as alot of flaws like the remote not keeping up with your commands ranging from , skipping forward a program on playlist 10 to 40 secs after you had pressed the damn pause or play. after switching between my divx dvd player and tv, it completely malfunctions NO HDCP and i need to restart the whole thing, All updates have been taking place. Did i mention it takes a good 3 minutes or more for the thing to start up before viewing. Even the channel guide is extremely slow. Only a bit of cloudy weather and youll notice things. I really hope they get some quality firmware for the PVR because the HD channels truely are amazing

Got the sound problems as you have, none of the others though. Besides the sound issue...Im happy with our setup :D

Reboot & rescan again, they will eventually appear. (and be sure you not in favourites mode and havent added them to favourites)

Sound, thats cos you have it set on the surround sound option but are not using surround sound. Discovery doesnt have any other option so it will have to do for now
No HDCP, changing sources on your TV somehow makes it lose the HDCP authentication. On mine for example if I go HDMI to anything besides Component then it gives me NO HDCP, so if I need to go to AV for example I go HDMI > Component > AV and then its fine, as long as I go to Component first, fiddle around & you might find a similiar "solution". btw, the UEC one does not do this

Im sure I changed the surround sound to off, but I will check to make sure it is indeed off. Thanks for the tip ;)

Thanks for all the advice. I decided to rearrange my whole setup, unplugging all cables. From the HD PVR i have my HDMI cable going to HDMI 1 on my HD TV,
I have my divx dvd player connected with HDMI to HDMI 2(dvi) on the HD TV.

I connect a optical fiber cable from the dvd player to the amp.
I connect a (SPDIF ? - cable with orange plug) from the HD PVR to the amp.

I no longer have the HDCP error when switching sources. - unless i switch PVR to HDMI 2 and DVD player to HDMI 1

So those with HDCP error, change your HD PVR to another HDMI port ?
