Hi guys,

I have a HD PVR (the one that can record two channels at once). I have it linked up with a DSD1110 decoder for extra view.

The other night I noticed that I cannot pick up E news channel and style channel (for the wife :erm:) and the new universal movie channel (I have scrolled through all the other channels up to 450 and it seems all the others are fine). When I go onto these channels it shows the signal quality as 0 and the signal detection as 0 but if I go to some other channels it is 100% full on both bars.

I thought that maybe it was my twin lnb that was packing in but the strange thing is when I switch over to my DSD1110 decoder I pick up all these channels fine.

Does anybody maybe know what could be causing the problem?

thanks

What is your setup?

I.e do you have twin lnb to 2x6 way splitter, 4 cables going into hd pvr tuners, one to extra view decoder and a heart beat between the primary and extra view decoder?

Those channels were moved to a new transponder frequency. A simple rescan should solve your problem.

I live in a complex with a communal dish, so we need to put in some codes to get all the channels. Those channels also don't work on our DSTV. Now the complex needs to do some upgrade in order for them to work. Does anyone maybe know what the new codes for the channels are.

Should be 11410 MHz 30000 SR and SMATV, but it will obviously not work until the upgrade to the head-end equipment is completed.

Is it not a satcr lnb that needs to be selected in the setup?

Sorry I should have posted this as well. Basically exactly as you have posted. I have a dual LNB going to a 6 way splitter. 4 cables going into the HD PVR and one going into the DSD1100 The two decoders are in the same room and I have a cable between the two linking the heartbeat. I thought that maybe the problem was the my twin Lnb was faulty, but when I could see these channels on the DSD1100 decoder it did not make sense to me because then obviously the LNB is picking up that frequency.

This makes sense to me that it could be what the problem is. I have done rescans on the bouquets but it did not clear the problem so it maybe that the software/Firmware on my HD PVR requires to be upgraded before the rescan. How do I do the upgrade for the firmware (software) for my HD PVR?

QT will give the best advice but to do a DSD upgrade you go into the menu and i think advanced options, password is usually 9949 and you will see the DSD upgrade menu if i recall, takes about 20 mins.

Have the same problem. Have a 2-way LNB going into a 6-way splitter for the Xtraview DSD1110i. Channels 119, 124, 183 have no signal on Tuner 1 - you can't even record the channel.

Factory reset & rescan made no difference. The DSD1110i picks up those channels with no problem.

HD-PVR Upgrade option not available

the frequencies for these channels were changed recently, I also had the same issue.

Then the hard drive gave up and we swapped the decoder for a new one and the channels were back - go figure.

so maybe I should just take a hammer to it and take it back to DSTV for a Switch out (upgrade)

/runs to see if still has insurance on HD PVR

:D

My suggestion (that you quoted) was for the other poster (jacoh). Yours should come back after the rescan... If it does not, there is a factory reset procedure. Which decoder do you have?

Did you see the question mark at the end of my sentence?
The reason that I asked was because you need to change the LNB type in setup if you are using SatCR.

Yes I did see the question mark. My question to you stays the same, as neither of them are using SatCR LNB's.
