My mom just advised that the Box Office and Catch-up shows "no titles" - popped around to check that she wasn't pressing the wrong buttons again and found it to be true. Tried a hard reset but no difference.

Any ideas what would/has cause this and is anyone else experiencing the same/similar?

1) Has she had the decoder for at least a few days?
2) Is she able to record? Has a proper setup with at least a dual LNB or SatCR?

Yes to both of the above - everything was working previously during the last 8 months or so, but this seems to have started the last day or two.
The channel plate that pops up when you press the up (favorite channels) or down (all channels) arrows also seems to be blank every so often; i.e. just the plate but no program title or information, but seems to return to normal a few minutes later when trying again - this makes me think they are working on something...

This is been happening to me on and off for the last week as well...

Glad it's not just her then - will ask her to check over the next few days ;)
Whats the signal strength/quality % on Tuner 2?

I've noticed my signal quality has been fluctuating lately by 10%. Maybe if your mom's alignment is less precise it may be fluctuating more?

My conspiracy theory is, maybe they're already slowly re-positioning IS7 to make way for IS20 which launches tomorrow on Ariane Flight VA208. Launch window is between 10:54 pm and 11:51 pm local time.

Let's hold thumbs, SA HDTV's future is riding on this bird getting safely into geosynchronous orbit.

I have no issues.
Basically tuner 2 records, downloaded DoD & Box Office & gives you the TV Guide (line 3 onwards). So if her iPlate is giving hassles from the 3rd line then its likely her setup is not 100%

Mmm really weird, Tuner 1 shows 98% Strength and 100% Signal Quality on Horizontal, but Tuner 2 shows 0% on both - seems the Dual LNB might be knackered...
I have a replacement in the garage and will swop out and see if any difference - will swop the cables first to see if Tuner 1 strength/signal dies...

Thanks bud, will check the LNB tomorrow, as it seems the Tuner 2 is not picking up anything anymore.

Do LNB's just stop working or is it gradual deterioration - her dual LNB is only 8 month old, so shouldn't be problematic this soon.

had problems last weekend, phoned multichoice call centre and they fixed it from their side

They could but its more likely to be a loose connection somewhere, 1st thing I'd do is check the cable is secure at both ends

Exactly the same on mine. It was installed only 4 months ago, and started giving problems in the last week. Anything I can do to fix it?

I used a single LNB with a splitter untill recently, and also picked up the same issues. After getting a dual, all was fine. I'm sure Smurf is correct. Check your cables from LNB to decoder.

Really strange - didn't touch anything, came back from work, thought I'd check the strength/signal levels again and both tuners are now on 98/100 respectively, and all the catch-up, iPlate 3rd line and Box Office are back - me thinks MC is buggering around again...

Make sure you have IS7 as your home network and not W7

When The decoder reboots the Box Office and catch-up are gone fora few hours.
They return later.

No it is not MC... Check the installation, because something is not right.

Thanks QT, will check everything thoroughly today; did a quick look at the cables and they seem fine - could be the LNB; couldn't see clearly from the ground, but looks like some of the plastic has come off on the front side nearest the dish, will replace and see if it happens again.

Hey zeb, network is definitely IS7 ;)

Hey Aardvark, noticed this a few previous times, but this seems to be different - there were apparently a few random reboots that happened on their own, but the BO and CU were always there within a few minutes - more recently, these have just disappeared and re-appeared days apart...

My first guess would have been the LNB or corrosion of the F-connectors at the LNB...
