I bought when it was 2499 at hifi corp (subject to the purchase of an installation voucher). Last week it was actually cheaper than that - 1999, if I am not mistaken (sane condition applied).
sounds more like 6 of the one and half a dozen of the other - everyone said the issues on the pace would be sorted but time will tell. I haven't had any hdcp errors on mine and don't use RF so I'll stick to the PACE for now till I see there are NO issues on the UEC.
BTW - just love the series record, I set up a few last night and hopefully it will work.

Ja, I also saw the R 1999 advert on tv. Think it was Computer Corp.
How does the MWEB On-demand work exactly, can I log in at the same time as my wife and watch programs, do you use your account number and password to logon? What is stopping someone from distributing their Account no and password and everyone with Uncappe MWEb to watch 'free' DSTV?

TBH I think the Pace is a better looking piece of hardware and that the issues people talk of in terms of speed are NOT the decoders fault, but rather MC's manky code.

Yep, the Pace definitely looks better and would be the one I'd go for should I ever be able to afford that. And a new TV of course. 
What were they thinking making the new one silver? Seriously, that thing is ugly and goes with nothing. Silver is not the new black.

Either way, the speed is better on the UEC, no matter who's fault it is... I'd rather have a better performing HD PVR than a good looking one
