Need some help guys,

So we have the following scenario:

Upstairs - HD PVR
Downstairs SD PVR 1 - first one.

Now we bought a surround sound system.
The inputs are only HDMI , so the SD PVR cannot plug a video feed in. It only had HDMI in and RCA audio in.

Would Multichoice change this unit?
Dont know what else to do as the PVR does not have anything but RCA or RF output.

:(

No, DSTV wont just swap the unit for something else. You could try selling it though

Doesn't the surround sound system even have an optical or coaxial in?

"we"?

So that's where Ockie has eloped too.....

What do you want to do with the PVR video feed? Send it to the TV via the surround sound system?

Yes have to in order to see what's on the surround sound setup

Sounds like your only option from the PVR is Video >> TV and then Audio >> Surround sound system. Unless you get a newer decoder/PVR.

Or move the surround system upstairs to get a signal via HDMI :D

Then how would you see the satellite feed? You can't have both the PVR and the surround sound on 1 feed

The satellite feed has no way of going into the surround sound.
It can only now go directly into the TV. This is a problem because it will use 1x input on TV. How then will I see the surround sound on the TV ad that will use its on input into the TV.? Is there a sd PVR that has an HDMI output?
