Correct, this is how it is delivered in the UK, so I can't see it being introduced for at least another 2-3 years until FTTH is more readily available.

+1...and they've claiming that there's not enough 1080p content out there. We know this is a lie! If they don't offer the simple 1080p, how can they offer 4K with their current satellite capacity

I don't remember them claiming there isn't enough 1080p content, it's always been a bandwidth issue.

The launch of the new satellite has removed the bandwidth issue. It is NOT a satellite capacity matter anymore. The new Explora is capable of supporting the extended version of DVB-S2, specifically developed for supporting UHD broadcasts.

DirecTV in the US pushes all of its content in 1080p, so probably just Multichoice digging their heals.

A friend who is in the UK at the moment reports:
(1) The new Sky-Q decoder (UHD) costs about £ 75.
(2) UHD TVs cost: 43" LG- <£400; 49" LG - <£500. (not the 2017 models)
Further, the subscription to Sky includes Internet and telephony services.
Sport (Soccer) and Drama are the main sources of UHD content.
