DStv Now - freezing and buffering

Did anyone experience continuous freezing and/or buffering while watching the Cricket World Cup final on DStv Now?

Nope. 10Mbps ADSL and it was perfect. 30 seconds behind of course. But perfect it was.
 
Had the problem with the Wimbledon final, which was at the same time. Running 4Mb fiber. Netflix etc worked fine

I have stated this 100's of time on here. Sport channels on DSTV Now for me sucks (rugby etc). 10 meg adsl line (unshaped) , and the thing buffers like a mofo.

But whole DSTV Now sucks. The compression (especially in action movies, or fast moving parts) is horrendous.
 
Also had a problem with Wimbledon in the last set. I am guessing it had to do with the excitement value , cricket super over and tennis tiebreak , people 'tuned in' who normally wouldn't causing congestion.
 
Also experienced the image freezing on various channels on Friday evening, and this was on direct satellite reception. At one stage it was on Kyknet, later shifted to National Geographic, and even to SkyNews. Also, the image was a few seconds behind the sound.
 
People I thought I was the only one experiencing this, since last weekend, I can't keep a stable stream with dstv now.
 
Streaming on DSTV now is terrible.
10mb fibre and it's always low quality. About 480p. Even with high quality selected.
That or it buffers.

I can stream Netflix 1080p while downloading and SO on the phone via wi-fi


DSTV now has always been and will always be terrible.
 
Had no issues over the weekend.
Was streaming 3 different channels at the same time.
Had the Cricket, Tour de France and F1 all streaming . (swapped to Wimbledom once the Tour stage was finished)
Streamed one channel at 1080p and the other 2 at 720p.
No buffering at all on a 20mb fibre line.

FYI just in case you missed it maybe : Make sure you have the correct settings. Have a look under " General " in Settings regarding mobile data usage and video quality.
 
I have 15meg with WISP, DSTV now works perfect during the day but when there is congestion at night it only streams on 480p. Netflix would run on HDR though.
 
100MB fiber with Cool Ideas and have experienced the same issues using DSTV Now on a Mibox 3... App works for days on end no issues with jitter or buffering on highest quality. But when its weekend and its rugby time? It becomes very choppy bordering on unusable. Youtube/netflix/any other streaming service/online gaming/you name it all works fine at the time that DSTV Now isn't working.

I used to reset all my equipment when it was happening but I've just resigned myself to the fact that DSTV infrastructure might have some capacity issues. Setting the quality from highest to high or medium does seem to help but not always.
