The difference between the two platforms regarding DStvNow, navigation,TV guide etc.?Tried it last night, works well enough ... , tho I use my LIT TV box for DSTV, mostly. The Fire TV stick for other IPTV services.
Would have appreciated it if you subscribed as wellI need 4000 subscribers on my channel.
Why? Why not just use the LIT box?Tried it last night, works well enough ... , tho I use my LIT TV box for DSTV, mostly. The Fire TV stick for other IPTV services.

Have you not had any luck installing the DSTV app directly on the firestick? That's how I used to do it.

The browser trick worked for years with the Silk browser on the FireStick
Does DStvNow register the Fire Stick as a device, when using a desktop version of a browser?
It wouldn't really be a second app - most android apps can run on the Fire Stick. It's just that the Fire Stick isn't technically available in SA. Same thing with the Roku.DSTV, keep effing things up, being the idiots they are.
Also do not understand what there issues with the Amazon Fire TV devices are, other than they do not want to spend money to develop a second app. But then there are enough issues with the current app, so maybe it is beyond their development team at present.
The LIT box stays at home, I travel on occasion.

I travel with a Chromecast. Not the greatest of devices but it's easier to use than the Fire Stick
I only have a chromecast because I won one here. I only have a firestick because my dad left one behind for me when he was visiting. I doubt I'd buy either for myself. Since I only use the Chromecast when I'm travelling I don't mind having to use a secondary device - in fact it's not really different than having to use a remote.Do not have a Chromecast, besides, I do not favour running an extra hardware device when it can and should be all done on a single device.

There's no extra strain on the phone's battery when chromecasting. Always assumed there would be, but the phone is really just used like a remote.Except after a days use you will need a power pack to make sure your phone does not die half way thru the show, or run it off of your charger.
PS: never won anything here or elsewhere - lucky bugger![]()
