DStv Now streaming problems

Dstv now app working perfectly in Durban, my brother is having issues using VPN in Australia.
Maybe Multichoice needs to restrict people to one stream, since they are clearly struggling with capacity at the moment. Or charge extra if you need more than one stream.
Plenty of cheap streaming sources in Australia, including Kayo (less than R200), why would someone need to VPN into South Africa and add to the DSTV streaming problems?

Just watched the F1 quilifying not one buffer smooth on dstv now

They can try, if they are brave, and see how much faster they loose subscribers, a few years ago, they where the only idiots in town, town has gotten a lot bigger, very fast, now they are a convenience, not a necessity. Competition is muscling in faster and faster.

Time for them to start producing the goods, or leave the market.

On their current lack of ability, the market is going to tell them to get lost.

Also watched via ITV stream. As soon as the game started, data throughput died. This was on Afrihost fibre, and happened last week too. Switched to Vodacom and voilĂ , no problems. I suspect some providers may be throttling certain services during this period. Stream before & after the match worked seamlessly. Also no problems with other matches. Would be lovely if DSTV could get their act together so that we didn't have to get creative. It seems one needs to spend a lot of money to be a patriot these days!

Streamed the match perfectly yesterday via Dstv Now on my Android box. No issues or buffering. Full HD

I have given up trying to subscribe to Dstv now. And Cutomer support does not answer emails. Bunch of @#$!%

This is what happens when publications like MyBroadband actively promote subscribers giving their DStv Now logins to friends so that they can watch RWC for free. More logins than expected results in poor service. Personally I believe that MC should have opened the springbok games to more people; another way of mitigating the streaming problem.

Perhaps you forgot that they limit the amount of devices that DStv Now can be registered on to 4 with only 2 simultaneous streams allowed per account?

Shitty service as usual. Wait till Black Friday popup again. Sites are going to crash. Companies are going to say they learnt their lesson from last year. Repeat galore. Wonder if we can bet on this? LOL

Pick n Pay are going to have a trail run, as test and to fleece the crowd first then have a second shot, come Black Friday

Yes we all know that 2 simultaneous streams are allowed. Clearly DSTV has not provided sufficient capacity to allow a large percentage of subscribers to use both streams. Under normal circumstances it is unusual for all subscribers to be watching on their decoder, as well as using the 2 DSTV Now logins. The large number of concurrent streams is caused by people sharing their login details.

If your DSTV Now is buffering, watch on your decoder, unless you are one of those typical South Africans that demand a quality service for free!

DSTV are being cheap skates.

Better option is go watch at the local Pub, 120 - 150 of us can watch the game, get a decent plate of chow, and shockingly cold beer, all on a single DSTV subscription. Awesome, except when you are out of town, and on the road, which happens to a great number of us.

Dstv Now is NOT free. It is actually used as a selling point for their offerings. It costs almost R1000 per month for 2 streams and for 2 satellite feeds to receive the main sport channels. The customer is not allowed to mix and match to suit their needs.

If MultiSteal do not provide capacity on their systems to cover peak-time utilisation, then they should unbundle the 4 viewing options and provide pricing per stream and per satellite feed.

DSTV Now is a FREE add-on to your paid subscription, as stated at launch and on their website. When it was introduced we were already paying these high subscriptions.

I agree with you that Multichoice should unbundle the 4 viewing options and provide pricing per stream and satellite feed.

They can then price the streaming option at a level sufficient for them to upgrade their streaming infrastructure to acceptable quality levels, and maybe reduce the price of the satellite (decoder) feed. The total of the 4 streams could still be more than current price of one subscription.
