DStv On Demand and MWEB ADSL exckusivity under fire

Can someone clear this up - if you want to use DSTV on DEMAND, you have to have MWEB ADSL - does this mean you have to be at home to use DSTV on DEMAND over the net (considering you'd be there anyway to use your decoder?)

You need to have an Mweb account, once you registered, you can use any connection for DSTV on Demand.

I am very pleased the ASA ruled against MultiChoice. There's NO choice. If you want DStv on Demand on your PC, you HAVE TO BE an MWeb subscriber. NO CHOICE. And that is anti-competitive behaviour. When I saw the ad, I bitched at DStv/MC about it. Their answer was disinterest, so, join MWeb! I gave them a middle-finger-salute and told them to go screw themselves. It's a pity that DStv/MC competition TopTV has not got that far yet, because as soon as they do, I am also joining TopTV - screw DStv/MC! They're a monolithic autocracy and we don't need that. DStv/MC and MWeb/MNet ought to be totally separate companies.

"thesones" - why pay two or more subscriptions? I don't want an MWeb account! Period.

Who watches their 6 and a half minute comercial anyways ...

I like long commercial breaks. it gives you the opportunity to fetch snacks, get a beer, get rid of the previous beer, etc... ESPN is the best, you don't miss any action while you go turn the meat on the braai!

"On Demand" that's a good one!

According to the complaint MultiChoice didn't disclose the fact that DStv Premium subscribers also had to be MWEB ADSL subscribers in order to use the service.

Strange... I remember this issue being made very very super duper clear.
So complainent has had his head in the ground. A responsible consumer would easily find out about these things, unless your a deaf mute...

But yeah, I guess pulling the short add is correct, but doesnt 'Terms and conditions apply' at the end of the add fix this?

DSTV ondemand is available to ALL ISPs IF THEY AGREE TO PEER WITH MWEB FOR FREE.... don't think anyone has however.

Having used it for a while I have to say the quality is pretty crappy but it is nice to be able to go and watch a show you may have missed.

Exactly. Why does everyone forget this?

Blame your isp not no choice.

tried this service a while ago didn't work don't miss it.
